Healthy Eating
A well balanced diet is essential to the development of your children. We provide two square meals at our Wincanton Nursery and can provide advice on nutrition and diet.
Tailored Activity Plan
Through regular reviews and observations each child has a tailored activity plan that is appropriate for their ability and style of learning.
Engaged Learning
With a mixture of free play and planned activities we follow the child’s lead at all times, giving them the freedom to take their learning in whatever direction they choose.
South Somerset Nursery and Pre-School in Wincanton.
The Balsam Nursery operates from The Wincanton Early Years Centre. Here we provide nursery, pre-school and holiday club sessions all year round. Education and care standards are outstanding with only the very best staff being employed. Among the staff are a Qualified Teacher (QTS), qualified Paediatric Nurse (SRN) and 3 other degree qualified Early Years professionals. Parent’s and carers can also be reassured by the fact that all staff have a Paediatric First Aid qualification. Children’s safety is closely monitored by our own Lead Safeguarding Officer.

The Early Years Foundation Stage
The Early Years Foundation Stage sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. We follow and uphold these standards to the letter, ensuring that your child receives the best possible start in life.

Out of Hours Care
Parents and carers that need care for their children during the evening, weekends, or for special events such as weddings, can book our team. All staff will be DBS checked, Paediatric First Aid qualified and will have received safeguarding training.

Sing-a-long
As well as working with Stagecoach as a singing teacher, Kayleigh is able to offer singing lessons to children and adults alike. Singing for pleasure is the objective and is open to everyone, regardless of their standard.
